Here we are with the first news from the 7th edition of the’EOLO Campo dei Fiori Trail 2023
We start with the date of the event. L’EOLO Campo dei Fiori Trail will also be held in March: the boys' Mini Trail and the athletes' welcome are already set for Saturday 11 MARCH, while on Sunday 12 MARCH 2023 the four competitive races will be held. Renewed collaboration with partners EOLO (Main sponsor) and DYNAMO (sports integration and title sponsor of the 50K).
The organisers have confirmed the formula of opening of the national calendar season of the speciality races, a time of year when athletes are looking for “short” and “medium” distance races to train their bodies for endurance after the winter months of downtime. Running at low altitude on the pre-alpine tracks in March ensures that athletes can concentrate on their performance, without being distracted by too cold temperatures or altitude.
L’EOLO Campo dei Fiori Trail proposes a more severe and technical mountain environment than one might expect at such a low altitude. In fact, the altitude never exceeds 1300m and this favours the absence of snow for most of the year, but the pre-Alpine conformation immediately reveals mixed tracks that are never to be taken for granted, especially in the longer distances that pass through rocky areas and long overhead ridges.
This new edition confirms the same routes as the previous year, but with a few minor variations, so that athletes will be able to enjoy new panoramic views of the Varese Pre-Alps.
Always welcomed within the Campo dei Fiori Regional Park, the 4 competitive races and the Mini Trail will always be based in the “historic” Lido di Gavirate, on the shores of Lake Varese where the Trail Village will be set up and where the starts and finishes of the almost 2,000 athletes who take part in the event every year will be recorded:

The competitions will again this year award ITRA and UTMB points useful for participation in the most important international races in the Trail Running discipline.
The Municipality of Gavirate renews the honour of hosting the international trail running event promoted by the’Sports promotion body C.S.A.In . In addition, the 50K distance is included in the calendar and in the UltraTrail Grand Prix of IUTA.
La Campo dei Fiori Outdoor ASD, organiser of the entire event, is strongly convinced that providing a “festival of outdoor sport” such as the Mini Trail on Saturday, entirely dedicated to children, and “pampering” the participants of the four competitive events on Sunday, is a way of highlighting an area that is increasingly showing itself to be an ideal place for outdoor sport. And a fundamental aspect is a true event sustainable as it is conceived, planned and implemented in such a way as to minimise any negative impact on the environment while leaving a positive legacy for its host territory.
And after the event, the entertaining “third time” will bring together again this year the more than 300 volunteers who contribute to the success of the event. Athletes, Volunteers and Partners, all together united by their passion for sport!
REGISTRATION OPENING of the 7th edition of the Varese trail will be the 30 October 2022 with PROMO RATES VALID FOR THE FIRST MONTH, and the race will take place on Sunday 12 March 2022.
