Competitive races take place in an environment that can be hostile with challenging and exposed sections.
The organisation has set up a specific page on the site called COMPULSORY MATERIAL in which is indicated the equipment deemed necessary by the organising committee to safely and conscientiously tackle the route, warning that anyone who decides to tackle the terrain in unsafe conditions does so in the knowledge that they are putting their own, and possibly others', safety at risk and that consequently the cost of any rescue, as well as any damage caused to the organisation or to other competitors, will be borne entirely by the person concerned.
The Organisation hereby rejects any liability or claim for damages on the part of the person concerned, or their dependents, in the event of an accident or physical injury. It is important to be aware that in the event of the need for rescue, the morphology of the terrain or the weather conditions at the time could make rescue workers wait longer than expected. In this scenario, safety depends on the material you have in your backpack.
On a random basis at the start, the organisation and/or the race judges will carry out checks of the compulsory material. If the competitor is not provided with the compulsory material, he/she will be disqualified and his/her bib number will be withdrawn. If he/she is provided with unmarked supplements (in pen or label with bib number), he/she will incur a 30-minute penalty on the final time.
I USE STICKS: the use of poles is permitted, and it is also possible to pass poles at personal assistance points
ASSISTANCE IN THE RACE: personal assistance to athletes is permitted in the vicinity of the race refreshment posts (within a radius of 20 metres from the refreshment post).
ANIMALS IN TOW: it is forbidden to bring along animals, whether on a leash or free (some exposed and equipped sections of the course would endanger the animals themselves, the competitors and the staff on duty with impacts on the safety of the competitors).
MANDATORY MATERIAL & GEL MARKING: a compulsory material to participate and it is required that all gels or bars the athlete brings with him/her are marked with a marker or label bearing his/her bib number.
ABBANDONO RIFIUTI: è assolutamente vietato abbandonare rifiuti lungo il percorso, pena penalità o squalifica. In zona ristori sono disponibili cestini per la raccolta differenziata dei rifiuti.
On the route and in the start/finish area are organisation staff, ambulances and ambulance cars with medical and paramedical personnel present the Italian Red Cross, Alpine Rescue teams, Technical Rescue Unit teams, Civil Protection volunteers, and CAI Gavirate section volunteers in constant contact with the base.
Checkpoints are set up along the course, where organisers monitor the passage of the athletes. It is compulsory to pass near the control points by going at pace, without running and with the bib clearly visible on the chest. It is advisable to make sure that you have been registered correctly as, in the event of failure to register or to pass a control point, disqualification will be applied.
Any runner injured or in difficulty may ask for the rescue of the organisation:
* Appearing at an official checkpoint
* by calling an organisation number indicated on the race bib
* asking another runner to alert help
It is incumbent and obligatory to provide assistance to all persons in distress and, if necessary, to alert the emergency services.
We ask that in the event of a withdrawal, it be communicated TEMPESTIVELY, to ensure everyone's safety in the race. Failure to communicate a withdrawal requires us to search for the person, wasting resources and time that might be needed for other concrete safety measures.
Withdrawal can be communicated in complete autonomy By framing the QR code on the bib, without the need to install any app, accessing a page where you will indicate your withdrawal. With the same QR CODE you can also check your result at the end of the race.
Volunteers on the course will also be able to use the same QR code to report withdrawals to the race direction in a unique way, but thanks to your intervention we will be able to solve safety problems promptly. In the event of FAILURE TO SIGNAL THE WITHDRAWAL by means of QR CODE or by means of communication to the personnel on the route, the organisation reserves the right to charge the athlete up to EUR 200 for security costs for the search of a withdrawn athlete.
On a random basis, a GEL MARKING check will also be carried out at the bib distribution (must have bib number indication), while at the start and finish the organisation staff and/or race judges will carry out the COMPULSORY MATERIAL. If the competitor is not provided with the mandatory material will be disqualified while in the presence of unmarked supplements (pen or label with bib number) will incur a 30-minute penalty on the final time.
In the event of SURGERY INTERVENTION and verification of ABSENCE OF MATERIAL indicated as MANDATORY, the organisation reserves the right to claim against the athlete by charging up to EUR 200 for intervention costs on an athlete without equipment to the detriment of the support of the other athletes.
Use of images and filming.
