Here is the first news from the EOLO Campo dei Fiori Trail 2022

The big news of the next edition certainly concerns the programming date. L’EOLO Campo dei Fiori Trail will no longer be held in September, but on 13 MARCH 2022.

A choice dictated by a very broad vision that aims to break the mould of the national speciality race calendar. L’EOLO Campo dei Fiori Trail will thus be positioned at’start of the season, This is the time of year when athletes are looking for a medium-to-long distance race to train the body for endurance after the winter months of downtime. Running at low altitude on pre-alpine tracks in March can ensure that athletes can concentrate on performance, without being distracted by too cold temperatures or altitude.
Campo dei Fiori trail stands as one of the first, if not the first trail event of the season with a mountain environment of a certain level, The altitudes reached are medium/low, not exceeding 1300m, so it is difficult to find snow, but the conformation of the Varese foothills of the Alps makes it possible to develop a severe and technical track.

L’EOLO Campo dei Fiori Trail will also be new in the tracks that will be entirely revised, while remaining confined within the Campo dei Fiori Park and the Piambello Mountain Community. La beauty of the landscape is once again of paramount importance, both for offering athletes memorable views of the landscape and for promote an area worth visiting. The end of winter, weather permitting, is always a good prelude to spring. A time of year when the vegetation prepares to sprout, shyly hints at a few leaves, but never invades the view. Here the view becomes long and deep, the paths easier and the woods clearer of undergrowth. The ideal time for those who want to kick off their racing season in the best possible way.

Varese increasingly “capital of outdoor sport” renewing the title of National Trail Running Championships, promoted by the’Sports promotion organisation C.S.A.In and with the tracks that have been completely revised

Start and finish at the “historic” Lido di Gavirate, on the shores of Lake Varese, and no less than five distances are proposed:
75km - 4200m D+
50km - 2700m D+
38km - 2000m D+
28km - 1300m D+
12km - 400m D+

REGISTRATION OPENING for the 6th edition of the Varese trail will be the 1 November 2021 with PROMO RATES VALID FOR THE FIRST MONTH, and the race will take place on Sunday 13 March 2022.

All that remains is to train and continue to follow the event's social channels to keep an eye on the opening of registration. Don't dream it, Trail it!
