We tried, believed and worked for 12 months until a few minutes ago....
reluctantly, the most difficult decision was to decide and
it will be even more difficult to communicate this to the children of the minitrail<\/p>\n

Since the first edition we have put
safety of athletes and volunteers at the centre, with the aim of
show the mountains at home to the world and let children and adults run and have fun<\/p>\n

In view of the latest weather report confirming a strong disturbance over our territory for the weekend, it is with deep regret that we announce the cancellation of the Campo dei Fiori Trail expected by over 2,200 trail runners and 500 children scheduled for Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 March 2024.<\/strong>\n

After a careful evaluation of the weather conditions, in agreement with the Corpo Nazionale Soccorso Alpino e Speleologico (National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps) of the Varese station and the Varese Red Cross, we took the difficult and very painful decision to cancel the 8th edition of the Campo dei Fiori Trail.<\/p>\n

Despite the efforts put into the organisation and preparation of the event, we cannot ignore the risks associated with adverse forecasts that would jeopardise the safety of those who would take part in the race.<\/p>\n

We would like to thank the staff, all 350 volunteers and all those involved who worked tirelessly for months to make this event possible, as well as all the athletes and children who eagerly waited to run in our home mountains.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the third weather bulletin, a disturbance is confirmed to hit the Campo dei Fiori during this weekend. It is expected snow as early as Saturday morning from 900 metres upwards, with temperatures reaching around 0\u00b0C -1\u00b0C.<\/strong> The winds, coming from the south-east, will reach 30 km\/h with reinforcements up to 40 km\/h on Sunday morning<\/strong>. Visibility is also expected to be reduced due to clouds above 800 metres altitude.<\/div>\n
