A fronte dell’ultimo bollettino meteorologico che conferma una forte perturbazione sul nostro territorio per il fine settimana, è con profondo dispiacere che annunciamo l’annullamento del Campo dei Fiori Trail atteso da oltre 2.200 trail runner e 500 bambini in programma per sabato 9 e domenica 10 marzo 2024.

Dopo un’attenta valutazione delle condizioni meteorologiche, in accordo con il Corpo Nazionale Soccorso Alpino e Speleologico della stazione di Varese e con la Croce Rossa di Varese, abbiamo preso la difficile e molto sofferta decisione di annullare l’8^ edizione del Campo dei Fiori Trail.

Nonostante gli sforzi profusi nell’organizzazione e nella preparazione dell’evento, non possiamo ignorare i rischi associati alle previsioni avverse che metterebbero a repentaglio l’incolumità di coloro che avrebbero preso parte alla gara.

Ringraziamo lo Staff, tutti i 350 volontari e tutte le persone coinvolte che hanno lavorato instancabilmente per mesi per rendere possibile questo evento così come tutti gli atleti e i bambini che aspettavano con trepidazione di poter correre sulle nostre montagne di casa.

Nel terzo bollettino Meteo, è confermata l’arrivo di una perturbazione che colpirà il Campo dei Fiori durante questo fine settimana. Si prevede neve a partire dai 900 metri già dalla mattinata di sabato, con temperature che si attesteranno intorno ai 0°C -1°C. I venti, provenienti da Sud-Est, raggiungeranno i 30 km/h con rinforzi fino a 40 km/h nella mattinata di domenica. Si prevede inoltre una riduzione della visibilità a causa delle nubi oltre i 800 metri di quota.

Given the latest weather report which confirms a strong disturbance in our area for the weekend, it is with deep regret that we announce the cancellation of the Campo dei Fiori Trail awaited by over 2,200 trail runners and 500 children scheduled for Saturday 9th and Sunday March 10, 2024.

After a careful evaluation of the weather conditions, in agreement with the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps of the Varese station and with the Varese Red Cross, we have made the difficult and very painful decision to cancel the 8th edition of the Campo dei Fiori Between.

Despite the efforts made in organizing and preparing for the event, we cannot ignore the risks associated with adverse forecasts which would jeopardize the safety of those who would take part in the race. We thank the Staff, all 350 volunteers and everyone involved who worked tirelessly for months to make this event possible as well as all the athletes and children who were eagerly waiting to run on our home mountains.
